Making HSE digital services inclusive - How you can learn more

Designing for inclusivity involves everyone on our team.

This includes content creators, designers, developers, project managers and anyone that is part of a project. Different team members will have different levels of responsibility. But, everyone is aware of how central inclusivity is to our work.

There are lots of awareness and training opportunities that we run for our teams.

Attend the monthly meeting

The HSE Digital Team hosts a monthly accessibility meeting, the last Wednesday of every month, between 4pm and 4.30pm. This is for all staff interested in digital accessibility.

Contact digital@hse.ie for more information.

Become a champion

Becoming a champion gives people the opportunity to gain more knowledge about digital accessibility. Champions complete extra training, specific to their roles. This might be through reading articles, attending online courses or webinars. Champions are then armed with the skills to account for accessibility within their relevant teams.

Becoming a champion is a voluntary activity, and there are no expected weekly hours required. It provides the team with the opportunity for continuous learning and professional development.

Discover more

Awareness training will introduce you to the different types of users who visit our sites. It will highlight the different access barriers that our content might be creating. It will help us avoid creating these barriers in the future.
